Inventions Going Bang (Marty Jopson)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

Marty Jopson clearly loves science, and after seeing his show, it’s hard not to love it a little too. His enthusiasm is infectious as he takes the audience through a brief history of invention. His stories are always interesting, despite some of his jokes falling a little flat, but it’s not just about the stories: it’s about the experiments! These are all fantastic, and the adults in the audience are just as amazed as the children, as Jopson ignites, explodes and propels several chemicals and machines, generally made out of household objects. It’s ridiculously fun and genuinely suitable for all ages. Now, enough of this reviewing malarkey. I’m off to find a Pringles tube and make myself a vortex cannon!

Assembly George Square, 3 – 21 Aug (not 15), 1.00pm (2.00pm), £8.00 – £9.00, fpp23.
