Arguments And Nosebleeds – Free (Arguments And Nosebleeds)

Three performance poets offer original ideas that don’t convince. Chris Young’s anecdote about his hairy girlfriend led him to laugh at his own story; then again, he ended his performance in his boxers, chanting rhyming couplets about Margaret Thatcher – I was not the only one unsure whether to laugh. I was fully prepared to give this show a lower rating after Alec Frou launched into a cringeworthy rap about nursery rhyme characters. Saving grace came in the form of guest performer and poet Tim Turnbull: the Yorkshireman’s poems inspired by nature, love, weddings and irritating folk musicians led to a sing-a-long finale, making it a surprisingly fun ending to a less than amusing show.
