Pam Ford Curl Up And Dye Salon Secrets (Pam Ford)
By Ellie Willis | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
The only thing that Pam Ford is worse at than motherhood is comedy. This middle-aged divorcée spends an excruciating hour drawling on about her divorce, her jerk of an ex-husband, her ‘fat’ daughter, and her bout of depression; all without a punchline or seeming sense of decency. This show is all over the map, providing comedy without humour, a salon theme without proper execution, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, Pam ends with a random song and dance number, employing the embarrassed barkeeps as backup dancers. The premise of Pam Ford’s show could be intriguing, but Ford’s lacklustre delivery, apparent cruelty towards loved ones, and uncomfortable anecdotes will have you scrambling for the exit.
