Tomorrow’s Stand-Up Today – Free (Wudwud And Luke Kondor/Laughing Horse Free Festival)
By Joseph Fleming | Published on Tuesday 30 August 2011
If Wudwud and Kondor are the future of stand-up comedy, the British entertainment industry is doomed to everlasting humiliation. Telling dreadful gags that a low-budget Christmas cracker joke-writer would’ve been too ashamed to consider, the duo must have given their predictable punchlines high-visibility jackets and flares: each could be seen coming from a mile away. Wudwud, dressed in an aggravatingly kooky rabbit costume, and Kondor, a man with as much stage-presence as a blancmange, were shocked when four disgruntled punters walked out thirty minutes into the performance. Envious, I spent the remaining half-hour imagining merciless heckles and choreographing my quickest possible exit for when this atrocity finally ended. Please quit while you’re behind, lads.
Laughing Horse at The Three Sisters, 5 – 28 Aug (not 6, 13, 20, 27), 1.30pm (2.30pm), free, fpp161.
