We 3 (Digital Art And Portrait Photography By Three Talented Scottish Artists)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

It’s hard to decide which of the ‘We 3’ I enjoyed the most. Cate Gillion’s portraits show married couples of varying anniversary years, holding the material symbolic for that year. Kate Knight has sold her designs to companies like Ikea and New Look, and her intricate floral patterns appear on bright pillow cases, hand bags, and prints. Gail McKenzie’s work was the most diverse of the three artists, with surreal seascapes, a series of birds, fairytale scenes, and anthropomorphic takes on classic Scots words. Although very different, the three artists complement each other quite nicely, and it’s easy to understand why they’ve all been so successful.
