Belle Of Amherst: Double Vision (Belleherst Productions)
By Kathryn Moore | Published on Sunday 28 August 2011
Emily Dickinson is possibly the greatest and most well-known of all American poets but sadly it’s not just her gift for writing divine poetry that keeps her in the spotlight, but also her eccentric and reclusive ways. William Luce’s play ‘The Belle of Amherst’ gives Emily a voice and brings her full personality to life by exploring everything from her family, heritage, friends and above all her poetry. The actress Kathleen Ann Thompson is captivating and her attention to each and every minor detail is amazing; she donates her breath to Emily. The visible talent is bound with passion and is something both a loyal fan and even a newcomer to the works of Emily Dickinson can appreciate and enjoy.
