Scottish Sperm (Tillicoultry Media LLC)
By Veronika Kallus | Published on Sunday 28 August 2011
The name might elicit some sceptical raised eyebrows, but this is a show with a clever, witty, weird script, performed by three smart, skilled, accomplished and spot-on actors. There is a lot of Scotch whisky, a dancer, a writer, teacher, robot, photographer, a Scotsman, and a suicidal father, and relationships complete with cheating, chatting, and flirting. Mimic and intonation are in perfect sync with the intelligent and cheeky lines, and no props are needed to distinguish between the various characters as the acting is so clear. Oh, and by the way, Scottish sperm is stronger than any other, but that’s as far as it goes in ‘Scottish Sperm’ – a tasteful play which leaves you wondering.
theSpace at Jury’s Inn, 5 – 29 Aug (not 7, 14, 21, 28), 6.40pm (8.00pm), £3.00 – £4.00, fpp295.
