World War Wonderful! (Karin Muiznieks Presents)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

The musical numbers in ‘World War Wonderful’ are a delight, the script when they’re not singing, not so much. The three girls do a great cabaret act, performing catchy songs with amusing lyrics. Not only this, but they are all superb singers, and the 1940s inspired songs are brilliant. However when they’re not singing the plot is simply confusing and not very funny, indeed quite awkward and offensive. The girls travel the world singing to soldiers in the time of war, but when peace is declared they realise they’ll be out of a job, and set about trying to create another war, resulting in conflict and confusion among themselves. Not a good storyline, but the singing is definitely worth your time.
