ED2012 4/5 Reviews ED2012 Children's Shows Reviews
The Golden Cowpat (Tucked In)
By Katie Cunningham | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
A lot of the kids’ shows at the Fringe use props and puppets to tell stories. While there’s nothing wrong with that, it can be nice to see the opposite, especially when, like in ‘The Golden Cowpat’, it’s done well. With expressive story telling from Robin Hemmings accompanied by music and singing from, Anna Wheatley, it’s quirky, lovable fun; the high point was the world’s best impression of a grumpy cow. There was also a good dose of audience participation – an enthusiastic auction which the kids loved. This is strictly for younger children (though not too young, as they might not be able to follow the story), but if you have some, or if you’re parent looking for some tips on how to tell good bedtime stories, then this is a good choice.
Pleasance Courtyard, 13-27 Aug, 10.45am, 11.50am.
