Blind Mirth Improv Comedy (Blind Mirth)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

In the fine tradition of the Fringe, another troupe of students have come along to take ridiculous audience suggestions, and twist the consequences into very silly sketches. Blind Mirth are far better than some, and a fair way below others (the Improverts come to mind). There’s a lot of very convincing accents, and the performers are sparky and good-humoured, even if they do occasionally laugh loudly at their own jokes. The whole thing does on occasion feel a little sloppy, and quite often attempts to link-up strands of situations or characters feels forced, but the buoyant nature of the cast just about keeps the show going. An especially good game – ‘I like my men/women like I like my…’, – ends the show on a filthy-minded high.
