Eric’s Tales Of The Sea – A Submariner’s Yarn (Eric)

A light lecture on submarining, with the technical stuff left aside for stories about life on board and the brotherly bond that unites the crew. Some of the stories are a tad gory; others are simply terrifying. In fact, it’s quite a good list of reasons why you should politely avoid any offers to get on a submarine. A few particularly nasty near death experiences later, the audience are considerably more informed on the topic, but the show has offered few real belly laughs. Perhaps this is not the intention; as a gently humorous insight into submarine life, and a rather sweet tribute to friendship, it certainly succeeds.
