Robin’s Ukulele Extravanganza (Modify The Van)
By Lewis Wade | Published on Friday 24 August 2012
This show provides a light hearted workshop for children looking to learn, practise or just mess around with ukuleles, xylophones and various percussion toys. You are taught a few simple chords and soon they transform into nursery rhymes and contemporary pop hits, from ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’ to Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks. Robin and his helpers create an comfortable atmosphere that will get even the shyest child singing and playing along. And the tutorials can be just as informative for parents, with many coming away from the show with a new-found appreciation of the ukulele. The show may not have the razzmatazz to truly be an extravaganza, but it’s good, musical fun for children and parents alike.
Pleasance Courtyard, 14-24 Aug, 1.00pm.
