Leaving Limbo Landing (Caroline Bowditch)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

Leaving Limbo Landing is only running for five days of the Fringe; hopefully it will stay dry during that time, for this free production is outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of St. Andrew Square Garden. It was a bright, sunny evening as I sat on the grass with a glass of prosecco to watch the show, which uses dance and aerialists to explore 12 individuals’ stories of travelling and settling. The narrative was lucid throughout, clearly expressing the emotions involved in leaving a place and the people you love behind, the feeling of limbo during the journey, then finally arriving and feeling settled. The use of water, air and earth as platforms for this story was engaging and effectively executed.

St Andrew Square Garden, 16-20 Aug, times vary.
