Sedition (Aireborne Theatre)

By | Published on Friday 24 August 2012

The island of Jersey, under Nazi occupation during the Second World War. Eva falls in love with German soldier Friedrich. Centring on this act of rebellion, ‘Sedition’ explores the struggle of free will over an authority that dictates with whom we are permitted to fall in love and at what time. The direction of this piece is uncomplicated and works to great effect within a narrative that is neat and well developed – the cast assemble themselves into a series of frozen scenes in which the action focuses on only a few actors at a time, while dates of these events over the course of the Second World War are projected above the stage. This is carefully worked, tender and powerful.

Zoo, 4-26 Aug (even dates), 2.15pm.
