The Dead Memory House (Theatre Corsair)

A melancholic, slightly bitter examination of lost dreams and the façades we wear, ‘The Dead Memory House’ is a brilliant piece of abstract theatre; disconcertingly, uncomfortably intimate. We are given glimpses into the minds of three very different women, each with her flaws and insecurities. Leah Georges, Hanna Harlyn and Laura Corbett all perform flawlessly, mixing soliloquy, dialogue and characterful physicality in equal measure, each role an instantly identifiable archetype which doesn’t resort to caricature. ‘The Dead Memory House’ also makes exceptional use of its space, although to say any more would be to spoil it. This is a sometimes difficult, intimate play, but one that will ultimately reward you for your efforts and well worth seeing.
