6 Hats And An Irishman (Paddy McCullagh)
By Rebecca Lunn | Published on Friday 16 August 2013
An hour of balloons, playing cards and banjos. Paddy McCullagh could definitely have found his fortune in the story telling business; the crowd chuckle at his anecdotes about being an extra in ‘Neighbours’ and fulfilling his bucket list. His magic tricks amaze as Paddy seemingly consumes several objects as well as reading the audience’s minds. The comedian also tells some crude gags which have the audience giggling, but the ‘six hats’ joke seems to have got lost somewhere, and furthermore it is disappointing when his racist material surfaces, and becomes too much for the audience, who begin to feel uncomfortable.
Laughing Horse @ City Cafe, until 18 Aug, 4.15pm.
