After The Apocalypse (The Creative Martyrs)
By Samantha Strachan | Published on Sunday 11 August 2013
It’s the end of the world, the apocalypse has come, but luckily we’ve survived because we happened to be in a cabaret show at the time. The Creative Martyrs are there to assist us in creating a new utopian society, “Cabapocalypseret”. After a slight delay due to an “olive oil incident”, the duo warmed up the audience immediately with some group singing. With their ukulele and cello they guide the audience into a new world order: electing a leader, an official portrait painter and establishing the laws. Their material would be rather weak without audience members to banter with, so the livelier (and more drunk) the crowd are, the more fun you’re likely to have.
The Voodoo Rooms, until 25 Aug (not 12, 19), 8.25pm.
