Flyerman 2 – This Time It’s Funny! (Steve Davis and David Kurk)
By Robert Stuart | Published on Wednesday 21 August 2013
For those with a penchant for absolutely terrible one-liners, ‘Flyerman 2’ is ideal. These likeable comedians get away with their (seemingly intentional) clichéd gags due to their amicable manner, but their humour is very much located in the abyss of observational comedy. Quite simply put, the jokes were lame. They seem uncertain whether they’re creating sketches, character comedy or stand up, and found difficulty in really settling, but the majority of the audience didn’t seem to mind; it would appear, therefore, that those with less demanding standards when it comes to comedy may find enough here to sate their palate. Though if they have to promise that it’s funny “this time”, then who knows what their previous show was like.
