Love (Andrew Gentilli / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Elspeth Rudd | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
This character-comedy routine felt more like a lecture than a comedy show. Two of Andrew Gentilli’s alternative personae gave long speeches detailing their views on love, neither of which were very funny. His final piece descended into a self indulgent, overly long scene that involved (bad) impressions of movie stars and was only loosely connected to the amorous theme. This was interspersed with what claimed to be stories describing the performer’s sex life, which were explicitly graphic and not amusing. Gentilli is the first to admit he is bad at relationships – and I fear this could have a lot to do with the repulsive way he talks about women and sex.
Chiquito, until Aug 13 (not 8), 2.25pm.
