Miracles Etc. (Pete Heat)
By Robert Stuart | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
The title very much reflects magician Pete Heat’s understated approach to his craft. However, Heat is far from all mouth and no trousers, and at the heart of the show lies his incredibly impressive ability. His performance is stunning; whether it’s guessing the words on a page or making money disappear, Heat constantly serves up delights to leave the crowd lost for words. The coup de grace is an intelligent culmination of parts of the whole show, which proves to be a remarkable finale. He can’t turn water into wine, but he can make lager appear out of thin air. Miracles, it seems, do exist.
Gilded Balloon Teviot, until 26 Aug, 8.15pm.
