Shirley And Shirley – Carnage (So Comedy by arrangement with Troika)
By Ian Freeman | Published on Tuesday 13 August 2013
Despite a slightly nervy opening, this comedy duo used props and a hefty dose of audience awkwardness to create a fantastically funny Fringe show. The crowd were forced to stay vigilant, as various people were picked to be thrust on stage, or had balls thrown at them in a style reminiscent of school PE lessons. Fast moving sketches were used throughout; a couple were relatively unfunny, but with each averaging only a couple of minutes we never had time to feel bored. The two performers had a good chemistry and were obviously experienced at playing off one another, which led to a well rounded performance that was heavily applauded and provided plenty of laughs.
Underbelly Bristo Square, until 26 Aug (not 17 Aug), 2.50pm.
