The Human Condition Free Show (Cameron Davis / Free Festival)
By Alice Harrold | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Davis gives a satirical seminar on the fate of humanity, the possibilities of religion and the general history of our earthly race based on his humorous book ‘The Human Condition’. Delivered lecture-style with reading stand and slideshow at the ready, Davis brings us a well-written performance with tongue-in-cheek humour. He covers topics such as sexuality, war and history in this 45 minute comedy class which reflects upon our species in a new manner. Davis gives the air of someone who has fulfilled the Ancient Greek aphorism to ‘know thyself’ and his comedy style reflects this – it’s clever, quiet and assured. You’ll be smiling rather than laughing; but overall the show is enjoyable, educational and enlightening.
Laughing Horse @ Finnegan’s Wake, until 24 Aug (not 5, 18), 12.00pm.
