ED2013 3/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
Wagapaga (Free Festival)
By Andrew Bell | Published on Sunday 25 August 2013
Lovdev Barpaga and Jon Wagstaffe could do with firing their MC, whose over long introduction and couldn’t be bothered finish hampered what was an otherwise reasonable show from a couple of likeable, if not technically brilliant, comedians. On first, Barpaga comes from the hurricane of one-liners school of comedy and he has some pretty decent material, although he needs to work on not spoiling his delivery laughing at his own jokes. Wagstaffe performs a traditional, mostly funny observational set. He is rather prone to SHOUTING at RANDOM TIMES, usually to cover a weak punchline, though, and his material about his wife is particularly prone to this. With a bit more work on their deliveries, these two comedians have potential.
Laughing Horse @ The Counting House, until 25 Aug, 8.15pm.
