Mrs Green (Sheep Soup / PBH’s Free Fringe)

By | Published on Monday 12 August 2013

A foul mouthed neighbourhood granny invites the Fringe into her living room on a Wednesday afternoon for a cup of tea and a ‘special’ brownie; Mrs Green, played by Ben Welch, is visited by all her closest friends, and they listen to her musical back catalogue and solve their problems. Welch’s performance shines more brightly than the rest as he takes on this endearing and hilarious character, yet although the other performances aren’t as strong, the musical numbers, mostly written by cast member, writer and director, Nic Harvey, bring the stage to life. This ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’-esque production makes for an entertaining hour, and not a bad way to end your evening.

The Dram House Upstairs, until 24 Aug (not 10, 15, 20), 11.00pm.
