ED2013 3/5 Reviews ED2013 Dance & Physical Theatre Reviews
Two Thirds Below (2/3 Below)
By Helena Wadia | Published on Friday 30 August 2013
Starting unconventionally, the audience is taken backstage and instructed to walk around the performers. Five women sit at a conventional tea party, quite still, waiting for the kettle to boil. The moments of comedy are perfectly placed as we watch the women try to keep things civilised. However, whilst events became energetic, the play starts rather slowly and the constant changes of pace make parts of the show tedious. Much of the show is well executed, bar the ending, which simply confuses; bringing a goat onto the stage for no particular reason breaks the fourth wall in a way that doesn’t prove fulfilling. In summation, definitely worthy of being called ‘interesting’.
Gryphon Venues at the Point Hotel, 3.30pm.
