The Morning After Season – The Pink Bedroom (3BUGS Fringe Theatre)
By Imogen Calderwood | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
The conclusion of a relationship is acted out before us, in the confines of a bedroom in which everything is pink. Beginning with barely audible whisperings emerging from behind the curtains, a kind of haze descends over the production. The pink aura hanging over the room, and the light southern drawls, lead to a pleasant sense of continuing sleepiness. The frequent long pauses are used to good effect: the actors maintain their energy throughout, using the silence to drive the production forward rather than letting it sag. There is sadly nothing about this show that really sparkles, but, infused with nostalgia, it is a charming, not-too-strenuous production that will ease you into the day ahead.
theSpace on the Mile, until 24 Aug, 10.15am.
