Three Women (Christine Buxton)
By Rory Morgan | Published on Wednesday 21 August 2013
Focusing on the stories of the women present at the crucifixion of Jesus, Christine Buxton sits and reads in front of her audience for almost one hour. The entire show lacks all the fundamentals of good drama. Buxton adds little to the words that she reads out, often even stuttering over them, and giving little to no passion or excitement in her delivery. The experience could be likened with a bad sermon in a church and induced more yawns than intrigue. I would imagine many would feel cheated out of their money after watching Buxton, there is little that she does that could not be achieved more satisfactorily by an audio book. This truly was a production without any kind of performance.
Greenside, until 24 Aug (not 15), 4.00pm.
