Richard Parker (3D Theatre Company)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

Do you believe in fate, destiny or even coincidence? Well you should certainly be taking notes if your name is Richard Parker – as the Welsh-born writer Owen Thomas depicts. This quirky and comical play, with a rather sinister undertone, highlights one too many coincidences in our history for comfort. These unsettling revelations are brought to light inside an ingenious story of two men whom just happen to meet on the deck of a ferry. Or do they? The plot twists and turns in highly unanticipated ways and will keep you theorising in all respects. Regrettably, in parts some gestures are too much, however, with the high-strung characters and the peculiar circumstances they encounter, it all becomes part and parcel of the play.
