ED2012 4/5 Reviews ED2012 Theatre Reviews
Normal (Trinity College London)
By Alexandra Wilks | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
What a brilliant way to start your day. ‘Normal’ is an original and delightful piece of writing examining what constitutes normality, through a family’s inspection from the Normal Inspectors. It’s a play which asks some interesting questions about conformity, and watching the characters break from the norm is uplifting. And while these sound like heavy themes for 11am, the writing is sharp and the talented actors keep the show fun and fast-paced, with plenty of laughter from the audience; the young cast brings the stage to life, and each member delivers witty one liners expertly. At times they don’t project quite enough to really fill the space, but overall this is a charming show. It’s just a shame they’re not here for longer.
Paradise in Augustine’s, 9-11 Aug, 11.15am.
