This Is Who I Am! (ISIS Theatre Company, I Speak I Share)
By Alexandra Wilks | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
This Is Who I Am! is a one woman show exploring the innermost thoughts of three seemingly very different characters. Isis Davis sparkles on stage, and although occasionally the script slips into cringe-inducing cliche, her ability saves the show. She is at turns funny and desolate, playing both emotions with equal dexterity, and I felt for each character as I was privy to their feelings, fears and inhibitions. We learn about a cancer patient, Chelsea from Essex, and a young boy with a disturbed past. Davis switches between roles with ease, confirming just how talented she is. If you want to see new writing at its best, look out for this show.
